Heres a little bit of info that may be of interest.

While getting some bits for one of my company sprinters from the local Mercedes truck dealer I thought I would enquire as to how much a new battery for my 129 sl would be as the old one was on its way out and it looked just like the type that you get in sprinters.

Lo and behold it turned out that the genuine Mercedes 100 amp battery as supplied by the merc car dealers for a 3 figure sum was £49.00 + vat!

The local motor factors and Halfords all wanted between £90 and £120 for one.

Might be worth checking your local mercedes van dealer if you're in the market for a new battery.

Worth a try certainly, just a few days to late for me. Had to buy one for my SLK 200. MB wanted £117 inc vat, for a Varta 74aph, bought the same battery and spec (without the Merc logo) £48 inc vat from local motor parts supplier. ;)

Thanks for the tip

Went for the MB battery from Mercedes Commercial dealer I said it was battery for a sprinter 313 £58.10 +vat total of £68.27 for a genuine MB 100Ah 760A(EN) part no A005 541 21 01/28 same as the original.
Nearly half price of going to the MB car dealer.

The original battery has done nearly seven years hope this ine does as well (doubt it!)

Thanks,
