My Mrs has just bought a CLC and unfortunately damaged the speaker cover on the drivers door - please could you forward the instructions to remove the panel for fixing - its a 2009 CLC 180

Hi guys

I've got a Mercedes CLC Coupe Sport 180, however the front right drivers speaker cover has cracked. I've bought the new speaker cover part for the door, however I don't know how to fit it.

I am under the impression the door panel needs to come off, Mercedes quoted me £180 to do this! So I'm after some instructions from someone on here who knows how to do it...

Anyone have any idea? I could do with a step by step guide. I'm also aware the door may have an air bag in it so I need some good instructions.

It seems very unnecessarily complicated!

I have had mine done under warranty and was told it takes an hour to fit!
When you have taken the door card off and everything else you will need a soldering iron to melt the plastic lugs on the speaker cover itself.
The reason the covers break is that if the seat belt has not retracted fully and you close the door it actually traps the buckle between the door and speaker which then breaks.

I've done the same thing and put the metal seatbelt through the speaker of my C180K Coupe 54 model.

Please can you send me instructions in how to remove the door panel in order to replace the speaker cover.
