clk 230 will not rev above 3500 rpm

Hi,members,

I hope that you can help,i have a 1999 v reg clk 230,which will not rev above 3500 rpm with an intermittant misfire at number four cylinder i have fitted a camshaft sensor but it did not cure the fault it also feels like the exhaust is blocked causing flat spot/loss of power,

won't rev in neutral or in D? MB's have a lower rev limit in N.

Any strange noises, what's the consumption like??
how long have you owned the car..
just a thought...supercharger bearings, is it a kompressor?

I had same faults put new coils plugs and fuel filter[£340] didnt work then cleaned throttle housing and air mass meter erase fault codes change fuel to higher octane [as manual] £29 It worked for me

Hi,i have dropped the exhaust centre and rear exhaust sections and the front exhaust boxes are burning red inside,it feels as if the exhaust is blocked,with a massive flat spot misfire at 3500 rpm,fuel consumption is terrible,it is a kompressor,

The cats being blocked is a common fault on this engine sad to say
