Hi all

Second post here! My first one was in relation to aftermarket air filters and I have gone ahead with 2xRamAir filters (I can say, the car does sound more angry) but I also after an aftermarket exhaust.

Anyhow, had not-so-bad collision in February. Took me 3 months to save up to get all replacement parts (fortunately, no engine or suspension was affected) I needed a replacement bonnet, drivers wing, slam panel, fronr bumper, power steering cooler radiator, front grill & two new headlights and also a clock-spring and OEM airbag.

In the collision, my whole fog light and front parking sensor loom was severed in the impact & I am yet to replace this (so I do not have fog lights or their loom, however I have been in contact with an electrician who advised he can splice a replacement loom back on if I can find one from a scrap yard) I have secured the exposed cables that have been zip-tied & covered to protect corrosion to the inside of the plastic grill. Please let me know if a picture will provide more information to what else I may need to get from a donor car to get the parking sensor and fog lights working.

Everything was successfully replaced and you wouldn't think it was involved in a collision. I have the car being looked into by a Mercedes specialist garage next week. I am curious just to what else I MAY need.

I have already got:
Brand new steering airbag. (only airbag that was deployed) (this has been installed by my local garage)
Clock spring - yet to be installed
Unsure of what crash sensors will need to be replaced? (unsure of the location of this/these sensors. If they are not located on any of the above items I have replaced, then I will buy a new one and get it replaced) ** Please inform me where the location of the crash sensors are.
Unsure if I also need to buy a replacement airbag module?

Can you please advise if getting the above resolved will get the dreaded SRS warning light to go? It's getting pretty annoying only having working wiper blades when the rear wheels are turning!

I will throw money at this thing, I feel like I am almost 100% back to a fully operating dash, I just don't want to be slapped with disappointment from the garage when I can gradually read any good or bad advise on this thread!

Thank you SO much for reading, let's get this thing back to tiptop.

Replacing clock-spring, disconnecting battery, reconnecting battery & starting car will clear the SRS defective system, or will this only be done by a STARs scanner?
What is the likelihood that STARs will still provide errors within the SRS if I have not replaced the crash sensor?

SRS Will need STAR to reset.

But it may well need the seat sensor replaced as they do fail. (Seat has to be stripped down) you may be lucky and it’s just the plug under the seat needs clicking home properly.

Some people use an emulator to fool the system, it plugs in instead of the sensor under seat - reset and SRS light goes out. But your passenger airbags won’t deploy in an accident. Cheap way to get it through an mot until you can fix properly. About £10 on the bay.

Your airbag will deploy in an accident - even if the seat isn't occupied. They effectively fool the car into thinking there's someone say there. On some cars you also need to tweak the seatbelt latched sensor as otherwise it thinks they haven't got their seatbelt on and it thinks someone is there.
