Have had my '99 CLK 320 Cabriolet for 9 months now and absolutely love it. When I got the car it had 46,000 miles on it with full service history. I have now put another 18,000 (motorway) miles on it. My problem is that it seems to use a fair bit of oil (compared to other modern cars that I have had over the last few years). I cannot see any leaks and it does not seem to be producing any blue smoke (thank god!). It is coming up for another service soon and will obviously mention to the independent specialist but is there anything I can check first (may pull the plugs this w/e but was thinking more along the lines of breather filters blocked?). Thanks in advance

My 208 had 83,000 on it when I sold it....never used a drop in between 8,000 mile changes.

Still like to check oil daily but you don't get dipsticks now :(

Have to depend on computers for everything. :-x

Dipsticks are back.
16vWestie, you don't say how much oil you are using. How many miles to the pint or litre??

Had the car serviced, low oil light came on after approx 8000 miles. Have put in approx 2-2 1/2 litres in since over approx 10000 miles. I put in Mobil 1 as was used in all the services carried out. Do you still need the VIN numbers?

Thanks

Well if you are doing, what, 5000 miles to the litre of oil, I don't think that is anything to complain about. Sounds pretty good to me.
