CLK 320 (W208) Gearbox questions

Hi all,

I'm new to the Mercedes World and I was wondering if any of you could answer a couple of questions.

Firstly, when I pull away (with S mode selected) I get a very apparent 'whine'. This only appears to be in first gear. Is this normal, or am I looking at a new gearbox? Performance is great and the gearchanges are slick. My car has covered a 100K.

Secondly, I'm sure It's been discussed to death....however, is there a gearbox oil dipstick for the CLK - if so, where?

Have the ATF changed. Do a search on here there is a
wealth of info.
