I've owned my 2001 clk 430 for 3 years now. Never once have had a problem, until now. Few months back, after a short 2 mile trip to the store, I attempted to start the car to no avail. It did start after letting the car sit for about an hour.

This past week, the car shut off before I could get to highway speeds and would not restart until I let it sit for at least two hours. Once it did start, the check engine light appeared and did not shut off. This happened a few times over the next few days.

I've since refilled the gas tank and retightned the gas cap and the check engine light has disappeared. Haven't had a the problem since then, but then again its only been a couple of days.

My question to those who know more than me, has this problem happened to any of you or does anybody have an idea what maybe going wrong with my vehicle?
