Hi All

If I say I need to chance from cloth to leather trim on C220 53 Plate, am I talking rubbish or is it possible?

Has anyone done this before and roughly what sort of cost am I looking?

Take care and marry Xmas!

I did this to mine and it took a day or so. I managed to get the interior for only £200 on Ebay. However your car is so much newer, the cost of buying one is not going to be cheap. I guess maybe a salvage car would need to be found. And i dread to think of what all the wiring for things is like. It would be a big job really and I'd be scared.. It depends how much you want leather :)

I once changed my 1996 W210 estate from cloth into leather. I think in your case is highly possible, but do find out the how-to technical knowledge before commit shopping. Check Dronsfields or eBay to see if costs are OK or not.

I changed mine (C220 cdi estate W reg) over - I think from memory that the total cost was under £450. I've checked but can't lay hand on receipts at present.

The seats and cards were about £250 (though that was a lot cheaper than the other interiors - they seemed to be in the £450- £500 region but the Merc interior was a re listing that no one seemed interested in); the carriage was about £40 and the fitting by my friendly local indie was under £140 - though it's hard to put an actual figure on it as the payment included a service 'while he was at it' (it would have been due in 4 - 8 weeks)

Had a quick browse on eBay - there's a fair range of prices from £200 (pick up only) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-C-CL...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c0cbe21c5 to £700 inc delivery http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-C-CLASS-W204-LEATHER-INTERIOR-HEATED-ELECTRIC_W0QQitemZ220526626604

Don't have any 'before' - this is 'after'.

Hi,
Just make sure you get a compatible interior, ie if your car hasn,t got electric seats don,t get electric leather seats, or you will have to retro fit the wiring and if you can,t get access to the doner vehicle to remove the relevant looms, switch packs control units etc, it could turn out to be very expensive, even if you can get all that, it would still be very expensive to fit unless you can do it yourself.

.... too many cars!
On one of my many trips to the UK, I went to see a well known purveyor of classic Mercedes Benzs as he had a car I was interested in. During our chat in which I decided that the car - although fabulous - was not for me because it had leather, he declared that he would never use a car with a leather interior because he simply didnt like leather and in years to come, he felt, simply did not last as long as Mercedes cloth and would never sell on a car that had been swopped over

I agree
