Saw that earlier and liked the look of it and especially the colour choices of the new interior - which sadly probably won't be available to UK customers :(

I like that a lot...and the new "Starling Blue Metallic" (how do they come up with these names) is very nice. For a change though I think I prefer the standard grille rather then the Panamericana.
I definitely wouldn't like those multi spoke alloys, would be a real pain in the ass to clean.
Can see a similarity in body shape between the CLS and my car, but then the motoring press have referred to it as a baby CLS. :D

I think I would need to see the old and new side-by-side to notice what had changed...

Very nice, especially in that blue in the first photo.
The rear is a bit marmite, somewhat like the W205 was, but I grew to like it.
I wonder if the 53 will be the biggest engine fitted? Hopefully there will be a 4lt 63 model too.

I wondered about the differences and as said above would need to see side by side photos.
I had a look and if there is any difference I couldnt see anything at all at the rear of the current and new model. All I could see is a slight difference in the front bumper.
Apart from that and the steering wheel and alloys that appears to be it...but the CLS always was a class act. I liked it ever since Ray Donovan first had one. :D
Apparently the new CLS 53 will not be sold in America, and they will only get the CLS 450.

I can't say I like the styling (but, then its not limited to this alone, its generally most new stuff and very few exceptions) inside or outside. The only thing I do like, is that it seems like they got rid of that well thought out but, useless centre console in the rear.

I think the trick modern gearbox's make up for a lack of black and white power figures as they can make better use of engine's offering and the faster changes count for a lot so it should go very satisfyingly.

I have to say as much as I love the 219 I’ve never really liked any of the newer CLS’s but this Facelift looks stunning

I find your comment puzzling.
You say you do not like any CLS newer than the first generation C219, but find this model "stunning"
The current model introduced in 2018 is the C257 but the upcoming model is virtually identical on the exterior, and viewed from any other angle than head on you wouldn't know the difference....and even then you would need to know exactly what you were looking for.
Maybe it is the new blue colour that has caught your eye...as it did mine.

On the original post, the car also looks like its supporting a fake, diffuser at the rear which, if fake is absolute and utter BS. On an AMG line cobblers fair enough but, on a genuine AMG anything fake is just a disgrace and the numb nuts who design it and sign it off deserve nothing but the lethal injection in my book.
