Could anyone tell me the engine speeds (and engine temperatures?) for the 190 2.0 peirberg 175 carb MB (1989) on cold start/choke. I have a feeling there are 3 speeds before the engine gets to full temp at 750 +/- 50rpm. Thanks!!

Hi Col
I run a 88/124 200 with same carb as your's, Starting from cold I always give two pumps of acc pedal & she starts first time, ticks over at about 1500rpm & then gradualy reduces to 750/800 when temp increases to 75/80. normal tick over when hot is 800(83C),
Regards Barnie

Thanks Barnie

I've increased the cold start idle to 1500-ish on start-up and the car is behaving a bit better (was previously starting at 1300 rpm and then going down to 650rpm just as it was reaching 80 or so degrees)... then when warm at 83 for a few minutes went up th 800 rpm. Interestingly enough the dash rev counter does not seem to be very acurate on my car).
The car does however idle innitialy at 700-ish rpm when I re start it when warm (or used previously that day) then slowly increases to where it is meant to be.

I started the car from cold the other day and went away, letting it idle for a few moments, then came back to find the revs were pushing 2500 rpm at idle but very quickly corrected when I touched the accelerator.

Thanks again for your comments!

Colin

A quick blast of WD40 around the throttle linkage at the carb end might be a good idea.

Mike.
