Great thread to follow (and I will, thanks!).

The inside is almost immaculate - great find. As Malcolm says, it's a terrific colour combination. I'll be very interested to see how the wheels look after they have been powder coated and maybe get some idea if it's cost effective for my S203.

Out of interest, would the Red Devil wheel cleaner (someone put a demo video up recently) tidy the alloy stains up or has it gone too far for that?

All power to your elbow!

Good point, but, If mine has worn at 90000 that bad then I guess they all would have!!

Why don't you try looking for a full leather interior instead?

The material used back then is 100 times better than the modern stuff, sure I have always been one for having leather, but something rather nice about that interior.

Got a few bits done today, had to drill out the rear number riv nuts, someone had snapped off the screws and stuck the plate on,

Got four new ones, screws and backing plate from MB and fitted all the above tonight so i can drive it in tomorrow....

I no the rear box hangers had snapped to got two knew ones of those as well.

One thing worried me on my way home the other day was the temp rising while idle, very warm here tonight so left it running and watched the temp come up to 100 and above,

No fan engaging

Quick short out of the fan switch showed fan working correctly.

New fan switch on the shopping list.....

Should have to new sun visor clips turning up tomorrow so i can deal with this annoying little problem

Company next to us who are doing the wheels have a blasting bay so will drop these in for blast and get some new blades...

Will have it in the air tomorrow so will know much of a piglet i have bought......should then have loads of up-dates....

Want to try and keep it standard Craig, need to keep money going into car to bring it back, might in time once finished and painted look out for a full set.......

If you haven't already got a price for the headlamp wiper blades from MB, make sure you're sitting down when you do !

Yes, that's what I did on my 126. I cut up a spare blade I had.
