Once I have switched on the radio and then want to look at say the map function - is it possible to "switch off" the radio other than using the mute key?

Thnaks in advance.

no.

You can lower the volume of the radio if you want to use the nav system with voice guidance.

If you have the aux input available, you can select that and then select the nav screen and you won't hear anything.

its not really strange. Its an intergated nav and audio system.

You don't get any sound on the nav screen so it doesn't matter if the radio, cd or whatever continues playing. If you set up route guidence you can adjust the volume the radio/CD etc lowers to when the voice prompt comes on.

I used to have my COMAND on the map all the time, and sometimes with no sound, using the AUX button to mute. (Unless my passenger was watching the DVD playing)
