I went to the chippy last night with my oldest daughter, the chippy is in a small Cornish village and I went via the 'back' roads in my silver SLK.
anyway as we approached the village we came up behind another silver SLK!!! as I was telling my daughter what a coincidence etc etc, she started to laugh as coming towards us was another darn silver SLK!!! three silver SLK's on a small lane with no other cars!!!! spooky:eek:
Anyway, like I said common as muck....bah ;)

I often feel there are too many silver cars on the roads. Mine is silver but what people, (other Mercedes drivers included) need to understand is, its been silver _for a lot longer than everyone else's_.....

Silver

My company car park is littered with silver, metallic grey, black, and the odd dark blue. The yellow peril stands out like a neon sign.
Do I get the feeling from the previous posts that people are just a little bored with the colours on sale at the moment?

Be like SailorP and Lisa Jayne. They are in yellow cars. However if they meet @ GTG or on a back road then their cars rarity will be reduced.

My view, go for what you like, if thats silver its silver, if its yellow its yellow etc. More people may like silver than yellow, but its what you like the counts.

I dont like silver cars, they are always the first ones to lose the laquer on the paint and go manky and flat and need repainting, mine will be colour changed when its time to get the paint sorted.

Silver is the German equivalent of "British Racing Geen" - so I suppose at least MB have some tradition behind their endlessly silver cars.

I don't mind silver - though it wouldn't be first choice - but I don't like the black interiors that almost always accompany them. Mine is "standard issue" of silver/black. Perhaps I should have waited and looked around more... but the spec was more important than colour scheme.

I've half a mind to go for an R type (subject to Mrs H - also known as the Capital Expenditure Committee;)) but they are ALL in either silver or black!

OK guys,
p/x my civic type R for my new SLK and on the type R owners club web site there was a debate if fellow type R drivers would wave, flash lights, etc to each other when passing. The general consensus was that the web site members would wave but very few ever waved back. Now how many SLK (or other types) owners do the same and what reaction do you get???
