Did someone say “leak”?Comand system not shutting down
Water damage in the boot
By the way. There are about 130 culprits! You’ll need to test every fuse.Hi .
Can anyone point me to the main area's to check for battery drainage to check on a 2002 sl500 please. Many thanks.

I fear you've missed out a zero Mark, shouldn't that read 0.03A (30mA) and 0.05A (50mA) for a sleeping state? 0.5A (500mA) is a big number? For me it was a slight drain on one of the rear window motors. Depends how big is the drain, 0.30 amps is normal. Anything over 0.50 is a problem, most people fit a trickle charger and problem solved.
I have a 0.35A drain and the consumers message will come on after a couple of weeks. You can connect a meter in series with the rear battery and watch the car go to sleep.
I had a 0.4A (420mA) drain that was killing my battery in under 8 hours.I fear you've missed out a zero Mark, shouldn't that read 0.03A (30mA) and 0.05A (50mA) for a sleeping state? 0.5A (500mA) is a big number?

PSE pump. COMAND not going to sleep. Alternator diode pack. Loads of potential causes.
Thankyou. Top manComand, cd changer, TV tuner, mobile phone kit....
On mine it was Comand related. If I turned off the car and sat for 5 minutes you could periodically hear the CD Changer cycle. Disconnected the CD Changer and TV tuner (both in same area) and battery no longer goes flat overnight. Not bothered figuring out which it is but it's one of them.

It’s a recurring joke, anyone with a 230 SL understands leak paths…In uk we say that
