We'd love to get some thoughts on this!
We've recently shared an article titled "Why you should avoid comparison sites: Expect gaps in cover for a ‘cheap’ price". While these sites might make it seem like you’re comparing apples to apples, the cover really does vary from policy to policy. Even more so when compared to the cover you could get via a specialist insurance broker.
You could be:
- Getting less cover (as there could be gaps or nuances which means you don't get the payout you're expecting)
- Paying for a 'one size fits all' policy than you could be (in fairness, these sites are competitive, but generally the cheaper the premium, the cheaper the product)
- Spending a lot of time shopping around - when we could do it for you.
- Agreeing for your data to be shared with site associates including all of the insurers, credit reference agencies, market research companies and life insurance partners. With us, the data stays between you, us and the insurers we get quotes from. Nothing more, nothing less.

How has your experience been with comparison sites? Have you been affected when making a claim?
