confussion

Hi I noticed that everyone refers to mercedes as w208 or w209 and so on ,:Oops: forgive me for being ignorant but how do I know what mie is ??
Its a CLK 200 kompressor convertable Avantdarde year 2002
Is this the typ of engine ??
Also I used Motul Xlite 8100 0w30 ester based oil in my TT as it was generally regarded as the best for that type of car , I was wondering what people on here were using

Yours will be a WDB208 its the start of the chassis number found under the tex disk or on the b piller!

thanks for that mate just need the best engine oil now and also does the super charger take its oil from the engine? or is it separate ?

Hi,
Unless your Kompressor/Supercharger has been disassembled/rebuilt according to MB there is no need to look at the oil for it.
Be warned you must get the level correct when refilling the supercharger as it could cause foaming which in turn can cause damage apparently.
My C230K has done 136,000 miles now and the charger is still perfectly ok.

thanks for the info guys just need a good engine oil eg motul ester based exlite 8100 fully synth, I will have to ring the oil man
