Constant pressure Wiper blades - a bargain

Good Evening All,

Just been to Tesco and they have their one piece constant pressure wiper blades on offer again. £4 each!

I have the very same on my C-Class. No smears, no judders. You will identify them by the pre-formed (banana-shaped) packaging.
These were introduced by Mr Tesco early in the year and were £8 BOGOFF. They then went to £8 each. Universal fitting, lots of sizes.
If they still are £8 each in your local, ask if you can have them at the 'Essex price' - cheap as chips.

It wasn't so long ago, a pal at work bought 2 for his people carrier - came away with small change out of £45 from the Seat main stealer.

Best Regards, DoverSole

Thanks for this post...just make sure the fitment is OK

Ok on that, carnut - they fit my car fine (oh, and a mate at works E300)
In the event of a mis-fit, I'm pretty sure Mr T will take them back, so nowt to lose.

Evening Malcolm, no they don't - perhaps you could update on the Asda prices? (as mentioned in a previously well buried by now, post).

It's just a genuine pile-them-high-flog-them-quick, fur lined, cork tipped, glow in the dark, scratch & sniff, ocean going bargain from the place that's dead set on taking over the entire western world.

Wish I had some shares - mine are with Barclays ..................

'Nuff said, Regards Dover

Sorry, Malcolm - I believe we started adding to a previous post regarding smeary windscreens a couple of days ago, during which you mentioned Asda prices for blades. I recall a couple of exchanges price-wise that's all.

BTW, how has the weather been in the west country these last few days? I hear tell you've been having some rather freaky stuff lately.

John.

Is your mate's E300 the single wiper W210? I have an E Class and have been looking at these , but wasn't sure that they would work...

Welcome Benoliver,

Yes it is, W210 E-Class E300 Turbodiesel, (1997 year I think).
Basically, I bought two when they were buy one get one free and he hassled me for the other one, fitted on straight away. As I say, all the necessary fitings are included, so go for it. In the event you are less than happy Mr T offers a full refund. See my previous posts.

You will have a true bargain then, cheaper than £4?
It begs the question: how much is Mr. T paying for them?

Anyone who has flat blades as standard, like my CLK, don't bother with the Tesco ones at £4, you can only get them to fit by adding two adaptors to the blade which makes the wiper arm stick out an extra inch from the windscreen.
Apart from spoiling the look, it doesn't feel to secure either.

I'm returning mine & will have to pay for the real thing elsewhere.

Non of the big Tesco's near me (North London) had any of these. I tried ordering online but there's an extra £5 for delivery or collection from store.

So I bought a regular one from them for £1.50 and swapped the blade.

It works great.
