Coolant Leak only when Radiator fan turns on?

Hi All,

Mercedes E350 CDI 2010 Coupe.

I have a coolant leak but only when the radiator fan turns on, has anyone experienced this /what could be causing it?

When the fan turns on and I park up, I can see the leak from below the car - luckily as it isn't a large or persistent leak the car hasn't overheated nor told me to top up coolant as yet.

99% of the time no leak given the fan only turns on when I am putting the foot down on a very long journey.

Are you sure if isn't condensate from the aircon? When the car is moving it will not be noticeable.

As said above if the water is clear it's the A/C and if it's the same colour as the coolest then there is a issue somewhere but my money would be on the A/C.

Good point - hadn't though about this. Will take a closer look next time it happens to see if it is just water.
