I have had my C180K (03) for a couple of months and have just had the coolant level warning light come on for the third time. I have topped it up each time. I have rarely had to top up any previous car I have had.

Is this a normal thing?, or a potential problem thing?

Where is the water likely to be going? Hopefully not in the engine! I have checked under the oil filler cap, there is nothing but oil.

This lamp could be coupled to the windscreen tank as well, so do check that, if its OK the maybe the sender in the top up tank is faulty

if you are having to top up the resevoir every time then you are losing water, you need to have the system pressure tested for a proper result!!! sorry to have to disagree with you malc but the washer bottle has its own light and both run thro the front SAM on differnt circuits!

Malcolm, you seem to have hit the nail on the head. What I didnt say was that every time I get the warning for coolant, the washer warning also comes up (2 Malfunctions) I have just filled up the washer only and now all malfunctions have cleared.

Is this a fault, if so how can it be fixed.

Thanks. I wish I could repay all the people on here who give me great advice.

I'd like to buy you all a pint, but sharing it out would be difficult. :)
