Courtesy Car

My car is in the local Mercedes Benz approved bodyshop for paintwork under the 30 year warranty. The bodyshop phoned me to say that they need the car for a further 2 weeks because when they sandblasted the rear wheel arch it was perfortaed which means a new quarter panel.

Thats all well and good but when I put the car in, both the bodyshop and the local Mercedes Dealership said that they do not provide a courtesy car for warranty work. That was fine as it was only supposed to be in for 4-5 days and I good get by. But now it is in for 2-3 weeks more and I am snookered to get to and from work.

What can I do and where do I stand? Thanks.

I think you should be insistng on a car. Its under warranty, its not your fault, push them, they always have cars.

Equivalent car should be forthcoming as you need it.

At least the A class is better than no car at all (not knowing what model you drive).

Mine was OTR for 2 weeks. In it's place, I got a Clio.... A 1.2 Clio..... oh the shame.....

I couldn't wait to give it back!

There was a waiting time of a month the last time I checked. You are entitled to a courtesy car or reimbursement for one / travel.

A courtesy car is listed in the drivers handbook for warranty repairs.

Yup - I was quoted for a courtesy car (insurance cost or so they say) when mine went in for service. Then when he saw the warranty and recall items the service chap said that he could bill it to MB instead.
The old man's 220 was in twice for rust work (2nd time to do it right) and he had a car each time.
Even the indies have courtesy cars.
