Not sure I like the new front. I have the opportunity to replace my leased c class with the current E Class in March. As you may expect the deal is v good on the outgoing model. With it being leased I have no concern over resale but cannot get my head around the fact that I will have an old/superseded model for the entire 3 years that I have the car. What are others thoughts. I think I prefer the current front.

Choice is either a E250CDi Auto Avantgarde or E350CDi Auto Avantgarde. The monthly cost for the 350 is £19 plus around £40 extra in fuel costs. Is the 350 worth the extra £60 a month.

What real mpg figures are drivers seeing in their 250s and 350s

Thanks

Is the 350cdi worth the extra £60. Probably. Depends if you are happy to pay that for the extra refinement

The new E class front is butt ugly, count your lucky stars you're not getting one but the last of the 4 lights 212s.

The 250 is great, and fine for most driving. The 350 is very smooth and has loads of grunt. I get 46 - 48 on my work commute (mix of cross country and motorway) but have had 62+ on a long motorway run up to Cumbria.

I wouldn't worry about having the "old" model, most people won't know the difference anyway.

I dislike all of the new and newer fronts, it's a great car though and as per above most people wouldn't know the difference

I you are leasing, dont give it a thought. I have an ML350 on lease and its the old shape but who cares?! You get a whole lot of car for little cash and hopefully any issues are ironed out on late manufactured cars?
As for which one, I have a question, will there ever be a point in your 350 when you'll see a 250 on the road and wish that youd bought a less powerful, less refined engine? Now try the same logic in your 250....

That 250 diesel engine is amazing.

While you are envisaging and daydremaing about engine power, visualise also that you are standing at the petrol pump tanking up your 250........ imagine the sense of satisfaction as you realise you are getting 50+ mpg overall as you fill up for your £90....... now visualise yourself visiting the pump 50% more frequently to put your £90 in........... in rain, snow, sleet, hail as you do it.

imho the E250 is the one Id choose. It drives really well.

It is fugly though. But I guess that doesn't matter too much, you can't see the outside when you're driving it.
