I am big fan of motorbikes. But not quad bikes. Shud be farms and off road only.
There’s a chap down the road from us, he has 3 motorbikes and a quad. All with banging/ popping/ frickin’ noisy exhausts, and he enjoys ragging the wingnuts off them past the mouth of our close at all hours. Charming I tell you. The quad is the worst though as he’ll take that into the (fallow) field next to the road, and off-road it there for ages.

Get,borrow a decent air rifle get darts quad sidewalls are notoriously thin!!
Or a drone and video , antics n send to plod. Not sure but I think regular punctures more likely to induce a different venue.

I already have various shooty thing licenses, wouldn’t want to risk them by doing something daft. Much as I might want to!

Anyway, related topic, but probably less popular...

Why are motorcycles allowed to create all that awful noise, but cars are not? Surely the technology exists to silence a motorcycle exhaust better now!

I find motorcycles whizzing past annoying enough as it is, but why do they have to make so much noise?!
My Harley is not as loud as my neighbours E63. We have had a competitive warm up…

I hit the throttle hard when I was in neutral this morning, at the traffic lights. I thought I was in Drive. I had the window down and scared myself. My goodness it's loud when you rev it, and that is in standard trim. No exhaust mods that I know of.

Was that ever in mass production similar concept to fairy gannet? Much slimmer front end.

Right. My mega geek senses have spotted Supermarine Attacker WA473 over there so that’s Yeovilton FAA Museum. That makes it the Wyvern.
Yes… and yes… ;)

It is a pre-production Wyvern

No, it was a developmental dead end. The Gannet used 2 Siddeley Mamba turboprops each driving one half of a contraprop. The Wyvern was considered for a turboprop but ended up with the R-R Eagle 22 cylinder for pre production versions. Production versions had the Python turboprop driving, via a long shaft, a larger contraprop. 420F4FCC-9131-4826-8607-9EDAC673C544.jpeg

It is a pre-production Fairey Gannet - production ones had the turbo-prop engines
Oh dammit. Close!

NB this is the Wyvern next door to the Attacker. Just in case anyone doubts my spotterificness.

NB the Gannet in its AEW function could orbit for 8 hours, by the simple expedient of the pilot shutting down one engine (they were side by side in the nose)
