Hello from the States.
As the title states I badly need info for my 1975 280Sl in English. VIN is 107.042.10.000.605, engine is 110.982.10.000.401. All the 107 Chassis and 110 Engine manuals, produced by MBz of North America don't know this car exists.
I particularly need a wiring diagram and transmission diagram (Getrag G76/27-5) and info on the D-jet as it exists in my car.
The Owners manual that came with the car was for the UK market so I do have that.
Any info or leads where I could buy approptiate manuals for the 280 would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a Haynes workshop manual specifically for the R107. There is a German CD-ROM you can buy at http://www.mbig.de/literatur-angebot2003.pdf. You could email the MB Tech Centre in Fellbach to see if there is an English version:
classic.literatur@daimlerchrysler.com

I would take a look here (towards the bottom of the page) and maybe email them for more info on the contents of some of these manuals:
http://shop.mercedesclub.org.uk/acatalog/MBOA_Club_Store_Workshop_Manuals_5.html

Have you tried here? http://homepage.mac.com/dakota/1/index.html
This is US model service data, I know, as is this: http://www.manualsunlimited.com/product_info.php?cPath=46_70&products_id=2288

You may think that Mercedes UK would be as helpful and well-resouced as MBUSA when it comes to reference material on vintage Mercs but, sadly, you'd be mistaken. Confirm my jaundiced view by emailing CustomerService.uk@cac.daimlerchrysler.com

Hope you find what you're looking for;) .

Thanks for responding.
I already have 6 MBz paper manuals going back to 1975 both 107 chassis and 110 engine but unfortunately all are MB USA which means no 280SL. Tried Getrag but they have no info on my tranny at all.
Have a nephew in Germany, will try to enlist him in the cause. Again many thanks.
