mercedes C320 cdi sport 2008. taking the car out last night realised the dipped beam was too low or not enough range, realised as was not able to drive as fast I would normally do. both sides the same. Have tried adjusting but though have tried turning adjuster its making no difference. Any thoughts anyone, thanks in advance

Had this recently with my E320cdi , on my car there are 2 self levelling sensors and the metal arms on them are prone to rusting . One is in the front right wheel arch at the top of the suspension Spring . The other is underneath the car above the rear differential .
If the arms are both intact it's probably one of the sensors .
Having your car checked on a Mercedes specific code reader like Star or icarsoft will be able to diagnose the fault as well

I don't know what system your car uses. Vacuum or Electric.
Had a similar problem with a R170 SLK, turned out to be a vacuum tube leak.
