Do I have a faulty 320CDI ?

I have had my new 320CDI for a month. I am a little worried how noisey it is around 20 - 40 mph town driving. I expected some disel clatter, but for an MB I a am really disappointed. Some people say, it is difficult to hear any significant noise inside the cabin. This is certainly not the case with mine.

May be I expecting to much? But a the above speeds it sounds like a delivery van!!

What is it like compared to the one you went for a test drive in?
If it's significantly louder than that one then get one of the service chaps or better still the boss to come for a drive around with you and see what they say.
