Need some bits and pieces for my CLS55 - ball joint, couple of bushes etc

I'd rather fit genuine Merc and don't mind paying up for them, but would like to get a discount.

Does anyone have a pet dealer they use that gives them a discount and if so, how much can I get off retail ?

    Cheers

    Jonny

Depends on the dealers policy on giving discount and the parts, and the amount you are spending as to how much discount they give. I have got up to 25% off of some parts, but then i am a well known customer, but you "should" get 10% off.
Inchcape MB main dealer offer a 10% discount on online purchases and are very good and helpful.

    Seconded!

I ring the parts department with chassis no. to confirm part nos before ordering online. Excellent service, I use them for all my parts.

Dealer knocks off a good bit for an older car but a reputable indie will order up merc parts and fit at a cheaper labour rate.

Inchcape is ok, but sometimes the postage costs outweigh the discount. Depends what you're after I guess

Agree with st4. Would argue a good indie with genuine parts would be considerably cheaper than the stealer's.

Don't need anything particularly expensive and my Indy (MB Wirral) are extremely good, so for the extra £20 or so I would save, I'll probably just let them do the ordering and if they make a tad on the deal, fair play to them.

    Useful discussion though !

MB Sheffield. I have never been able to get any discount and have even been laughed at when asking for one !! I will never use them again for anything.

MB Chesterfield. I mentioned my 10% forum discount on inchcape, mercedes-190.co.uk and the parts chap honoured it and actually gave me an even better discount than the forum inchcape discount :D

So hats off to MB Chesterfield and F*&k off MB Sheffield.

My local dealer in kent normally gives me 15% off, even without asking!

I suppose there is a benefit on using them & to be honest, they ARE good in respect of rapid delivery etc & are pretty friendly... :)

not sure about the servicing, as I don't use that bit ! :D

MB Chesterfield give me 10% even though I am a newbie and only been there a couple of times, Thing that I really appreciate is that so far they have had everything I wanted in stock - unlike the previous crowd (Pentagon Vauxhall) that didn't even stock standard service parts like brake pads !
