Was there a big price difference? The MB one for the SL is about £11.Just had a new Bosch oil filter arrive and I still had an MB one in the garage . I was amazed at how similar they are , maybe from the same factory ?
The MB boxed one also has a Mann brand on it .

When they are made by the same manufacturer all's good, when they're made to a lesser spec then not so much... difficult to tell the difference though especially when the sellers use a stock photo of the itemThis is why I find it amusing and irritating in equal measure when folk bang on about “Oh, I must have O.E. stuff on my car”.
The parts are often made by the same manufacturer and just relabelled, Wighty’s observation/discovery just re-enforces and/or proves the point. Meanwhile MB and others of their ilk continue to make fortunes out of the poor unaware owners.
