Double glazing. How do you know? Also headlamp washers.

How do you know if your side windows are double glazed?

When I wound down the front window in a S320 LWB the top edge of the glass had a indentation running along it. Is this an indication of two thinner bits of glass being stuck together to form a double glazed panel?

On the S class do headlamp washer popup? I've seen many that seem to have blanks where the nozzles would be. I can't believe that all the ones I have seen do not have the washers.

The windows arent double glazed, they are laminated, same as the windscreen, ..basically two pieces of glass stuck together with a plastic sheet sandwiched between them...the older S class had double glazing , double panes of glass with an 8mm gap betwee the panes ...as for the headlamp washers they should pop up when the headlamps are on and the washer button is held on for a few seconds, I'm not sure if all models had them, but on a 60 grand car I would expect them all to have washers,
You can check by lifting up the spring loaded cover below the headlamps..it is hinged at the bottom

For the headlamp washer, if the car is dry just turn headlights on and activate screenwash. Headlamps will be wet if washer worked.

The blanks you see are the covers, the washing nozzles are behind them. They are standard on the S, all models from 1999.
