Gordon my husband has made a terrible mistake. He has SORNed my new W107 (which is fine), and then sent off the V5 to them telling them the vehicle has been scrapped.

He has only just realised he has made the mistake. The car is actually hidden away in our garage!

To be honest, he didn't even read the DVLA form properly and thought it was for an old 190e that we had scrapped a couple of years ago.

Do you think the DVLA will understand? And will all this show up on their records. I worry it will devalue my car, if I was ever to sell it, as someone might do a check on it and wonder why it had been scrapped (which it obviously hasn't) and resurrected itself from the dead!

I'm worried now. Help please?

As above, I don't think it will affect the value of the car.
Make sure he takes you out somewhere nice to make up for 'scrapping' your pride and joy though. :D
