e class column transmission stuck in park
speedtronic warning abs ,anti skid warnings all appearing on dash when car started up

changed the f32 pre fuse box ,brake light sensor and tested both batteries to be good.

pressure washed car before ..so wondering if it could be a speed sensor on front wheel

how can I test a wheel speed sensor

anything else I can check?

You changed brake light switch ?

Who installed it and how .

Why did you change pre fuse box in the first place .

it was suggested that the relays fail in these boxes ,and the brake light switch had also been suggested as a possible issue ,I changed both these . I have a diagnostic set up but its not working at the minute so im trying things that are fairly straight forward before I have a breakdown collect

You need to plug it in and the very least. Could be wheel speed sensor, could be CAN comms with ABS module.....

I dont have diagnostics unless I have the vehicle triggered to Mercedes which is not exactly inexpensive...
I understand that it might be a module or can but how would I test the wheel sensor..is there a way

Yes, there is a way, by using diagnostics!!

Or rolling the car downhill in neutral and seeing if the speedometer moves.

Why not use a non MAIN dealer.

it seems like I can remove a wheel unplug the sensor and attach a Volt-metre
if I spin the wheel hub it should create a voltage ..if it dosent its a failed sensor
can anyone confirm this test...?

if I could move the car out of park maybe your suggestion would be useful ..thanks anyway
The whole idea is to do the checks I can easily before having it collected on a trailer ...lock down has crippled us financially so we have limits to what we can do right now

If its a hall effect type sensor, you cannot test for voltage if its 2 pin and isn't then you can.

So you changed pre fuse box because of these errors, no change

Changed brake light switch - no change

And the same faults exist because you used a pressure wash .

if its hall sensor can I not leave it plugged in and test with a volt meter ?

You will have to back probe the connector from inside the car.

I thought id done the same when I pressure washed my e350 , mine turned out to be the earth from the abs pump wasn't earthed , the nut had come loose or been left loose after some repair ??

I had no speedo, no abs , no pre safe , no power steering , no cruise control,no anti collision , rear lights would stay on as if the brake pedal was being pressed. Struggled to get it out of park ,when it did go into drive ,it would engage 3rd and bang down to 2nd then 1st . Reverse could be selected but applying revs the car wouldn't move.

Have you tried half a push to get to neutral ,then try drive ?

Did you use a genuine sensor ?
