Hi. This is My First post, So go easy with me. :) We are working on a 2001 E200 Kompressor that shut's 2 injectors down if you floor the throttle to get kick down. ( Automatic ) or if you hold it in a lower gear and hit around 4100 rpm. This happens every time you do this, But will drive Steadily around all Day as long as you don't hit 4100 RPM. We have checked Fuel pressure, And Exhaust Backpressure, and Tried new Plugs, coils, Air Flow Meter, Crank sensor etc, We have reset Adaptions, and done the crank sensor re-learn without any success, This is a Meevo system and As we understand it, It senses Cylinder misfire by Measuring Crankshaft speed, it appears to be detecting a misfire and shuts the injectors down to prevent Cat damage. ? We have also checked Compressions and no 4 Cylinder is 140 psi and the highest one is about 154 psi. Would this be enough to cause the ecu to detect a misfire,? or could we be looking at an ECU or another Mechanical problem. ? Any advise appreciated. P.S. This car has just been bought through the trade by a Dealer and will most likely have been traded in due to this fault not been rectified by the dealers for the previous owner. ?

Oh, and the only fault Logged in Engine, ABS, or transmission is Cylinder 1,2,3, or 4 Misfire deteced, ( one at a time.) Thanks Tony Sefton.

Looks like not many Merc owners have come across this problem. ? I did talk to one technician Yesterday and he say's that he had a similar fault on one and it was caused due to cylinder imbalance and his compressions were between 140 and 160, Not too far away from our readings. ?

I havent personally any relevant experience to this fault, but have a suggestion.

Have you considered using diagnostics to run a live data analysis on the injectors, to ensure the cold and hot opening times are correct, and more importantly, at 4000rpm, then 4200rpm? A possibility could exist that the ECU transistors are no longer to spec and are not delivering full power.
Other similar possibilities could be primary power (+ and -) connections to ECU to ensure full voltage/current is getting to the injectors.

Have you thought about the fuel pump relay, since these things, cut the fuel at 4k could it be parcially faulty. Also the fault could be ign ECU or a coil pack

I have bought repaired HFM ecu's for mercs and sangyongs before and they have been ok, But I haven't tried to get this Meevo one repaired yet. ? What sort of money are we talking about for a Replacement. ?

Surely if it is one that MB cant fix / and have failed to fix   it has to be something silly and not just a module swap of items like the ECU - i am sure MB are great at module swaps but working and solving on these sort of problems is probably beyond their levels of intellect and expertise. The Volvo 850 has a crazy fault that no one can seem to fix - it just wont start on the key sometimes EVERYTHING was changed - ECU's all the sensors battery starter - oh i forgot to say it will start with a push :( every time. After all the experts including the stealer had a look at it someone on the Volvo forum in the USA said it was 'electronic noise' from the starter motor and ring gear flooding the engine compartment with enough noise to wipe out the signals to the ECU - we did hang a scope on it and for sure it was noisy but without a few more 850's to do a comparison check on we did not know if what we saw on the scope was indeed a problem - pre this we had heard this story and fitted additional earth straps between engine and gearbox and both the engine and the gearbox and the chassis - no joy. The fix was to remove the gearbox and clean the face of the engine block and gearbox to a bright shiny finish where they met - this cured the problem for 98% of the time though when you are in a hurry it will play silly buggers at times. So still a bit confused as to what is going on but it is for sure not 100% fixable at anything like commercial prices since heard on the Volvo forums of other 850's with the identical problem when i told one guy to just push start it he said no way then wanted me to tell him and his garage why it would start with a push and not start on the key. So to get back to the Merc i doubt it is a module problem but with the right gear and the right people with access to a rolling road you should be able to discover what is going on and fix it.
