E220 2014 Estate 2.1 Facelift DPF Issues

Hello not sure if the right part of forum to post but any help would be much appreciated. The issue im having is my dpf appears to be blocked as ive had it on a diognostic machine and it is giving a reading of 250% and the engine mangment light is on and car is in some sort of limp mode. They tried a forced regen but it wouldnt go though as it said "the dpf is to full for regen" so i was wondering if anyone could help as i dont think it is the dpf sensor as readings appeared normal on diognostics and there were no other fault codes appart from P2463 but if anyone has anyway i can check sensor it would be much appreciated. So im assuming it is clogged has anyone ever removed one of these from a e220 or similar model as im looking to get it replaced or cleaned and was wondering if it was a difficult job as most of the information ive found online it appears you have to unbolt the dpf from the turbo itself but if there is any easier way to remove it or is this the only option any help or tips would be much appreciated thanks

If your DPF is blocked then rest assured, something isn't working as it should be somewhere under the bonnet! and cleaning or replacing the DPF will only free up some space allowing the undiagnosed fault to continue filling the DPF with soot inhibiting the regen time and time again.
Star/Xentry diagnostics and an experienced user is what's needed to first diagnose and rectify the underlying fault, only then would it be worthwhile initiating a manual regen or a physical cleaning of the DPF.
If you post your location Town/City I'm sure members will recommend known MB independent garages who would be able to help.

Hello thanks for your reply I live in the Lincolnshire area nearest big town is Grimsby or Boston could the blockage be caused because this is my mother’s car and she only does like 17 miles a day and this is split in to 2 short distances of equal length or do you think it could be an underlying fault else where and if so wouldn’t this throw up some more engine codes if I’m wrong please could you clarify thanks

The usage could be a contributing factor, most definitely

short runs with such an engine are certainly not conducive to long term health, however, it should not interfere with the regeneration process when called for by the ECU.
Dependent upon the code reader used to diagnose the car will determine whether all the present codes have been successfully read and reported, not all diagnostic hard and software are made equal, hence my comments for a reputable indy with Star/Xentry which will read and report ALL the current and historic fault codes, they will also be able to read and interpret live data to help diagnose, the nearest Indy I am aware of near you is https://www.rhautoservices.co.uk/ in York but I'm sure others will chip in if they know anyone closer?
