My faithful E250 has been laid up for 6 months, on starting is lumpy, suggesting that one or more cyclinders are not firing cleanly. Once warmed up seems to be OK.
Question: does the 5 cyclinder (Nat asp) 20 valve engine require manual purging of air, or does it do so automatically, as I suspect that it is this which is causing the problem.
If manually, I assume that you crack each injector in turn to bleed off any air trapped?

Lumpy on startup

This topic's been well covered - a search will turn up lots of good advice

Air leaks into the fuel system round the injection pump & filter are prime candidates, but bad glowplugs might be the cause too
