I recently bought an 04 E270 CDi auto, with 100k miles about a month ago(my first MB).Car ran fine(although seemingly thirsty and a bit sluggish) until just after i got the car remapped/chipped.The difference in performance/smoothness/economy was amazing and was very happy with the results.Car was remapped on wed.,thurs night took it onto motorway and opened it up,i used full throttle a few times, then i got a power loss, suddenly,as if it was driving on no turbo,no accel etc.Made it home, then restarted and it went fine.Last night same thing happened, overtook a car while accelerating again power was lost.Pulled in restarted fine again. However, after pulling off lights car totally cut out, drifted into side, restarted and the engine management light stayed on and has stayed on since.Tickover seems slightly uneven.Just want to know if anyone can shed any light on this or has similar problems before i contact a MB garage.Any help would be grateful.Car was last serviced at 90k miles and it reads 7600 miles to b service.

Who carried out the remapping? I would contact them before going to Mercedes as it was running OK until chipped.

its hard to judge. The 270 as standard isn't sluggish compared with most cars so perhaps you had a problem before you chipped it.
You really need to start with the fault codes and go from there.

Since the problem only occurs when you 'boot' it, it's probable that the remapping has increased the turbo boost (amongst other changes)....and i suspect that the turbo is now 'over-boosting', this conflict is being picked up by the turbo pressure sensor and causing the engine to go into 'limp-mode'

Sounds pretty similar to what mine did when the maf was knackered

Became thirsty and sluggish rough tickover etc and went on for weeks before actually going into limp home mode
