E320 1994 4 door sedan. Periodically, the engine dies upon decelaration. I then have to wait about 2 Minutes to restart. Then all is OK. Sometimes on Cruise it will do so and then recover on it's own. This happened several times recently on a short trip. The dealer replaced a fuel Pump relay switch several weeks ago and this seemed to fix for the time being.
It is also hard to start most times. I have to depress the foot feed after turning the ignition, to get it to start. It chokes a little, then all is Ok.

If someone has a clue, would appreciate a reply.

Thanks

Jim

I would replace your Over Voltage Protection relay, which is located by your ECU behind the battery. The original relays are well known for being defective when they get older.

Symptoms sound similar to those that I had on my E280.

I replaced the OVP Relay at a cost of £40 and have never had a problem since.

Hope this helps
