2007 mercedes e320 3.0 v6 cdi
Hi hoping someone could shed some light here I have a 2007 Mercedes e320 when I purchased it it needed a turbo ( even though it looked fairly new) the wastegate had seized on it. I replaced it with a brand new turbo a week later it had done the same again the Wastegate was seized. I took the turbo off and replaced it with a new turbo again along with the exhaust back pressure sensor and cutting out the cat and dpf I also had it remapped to delete dpf and egr ect. I also left the heat shield off hoping it would allow more heat to escape but after little more than a week the Westgate has seized on the new turbo again . Both turbos were completely brand new with the actuators fitted when bought . Any help or info on this issue would be great thanks

Any sign of debri and where? I’ve heard of manifolds or the corrugated pipe breaking internally.

Did you fit new feed & return oil pipes? Also check for oil delivery to the feed pipe by cranking engine with feed disconnected from engine (not from turbo).

So after looking at the turbo today its not the wastegate that is the problem this time it is the actuator and when plugged into diagnostics keeps coming up with diagnostic code p2510 once again any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

turbo actuator is very common problem, there are chances to replace actuator only...

Have a check of fuse F44 in the engine bay by the brake reservoir . This fuse covers turbo , swirl flaps .
The actuators if you open them can suffer breaks on the 4 wires that are on the outside of the electrical board that’s inside , but I doubt this if yours are new

The fuse f44 supplies the turbo actuator, swirl flap actuator and egr valve. In my experience a problem with the egr or swirl flap motor can lead to a voltage drop on the common 5v supply that causes the turbo actuator to malfunction. In extreme cases it can blow the fuse, but sometimes the fault is not so severe it blows, but causes malfunctions

I’m thinking about editing my post above to say exactly what you said and then deleting this one . That will make it look like A) I know what I’m talking about
B) You just copied what I said

Replace the actuator like for like. Merc will sell you only the complete turbo plus actuator.

Have a look at this may help, it was a blocked oil feed that destroyed the whole turbo.

Regards turbo feeds, drains when ever I fit a turbo, new or after any repair that involves removing it. I prefill the inlet, leave feed bolts a little slack and crank engine without allowing it to start till I see oil arriving at the feed pipe. Also if any Grey areas about oil press I have a manual Guage attach to see that press is cold and at N. O. T.
