if both front tyres are wearing on inner and outer edges this is what you would expect. ideally tyres will be used on both axles equally to get maximum wear from them, tricky if you run bigger rears. this is a trait on pretty much all RWD mercedes cars.

thanks Alexander, surely only getting 3000 miles from the fronts is a bit extreme and points to some kind of wear and tear in the front suspension setup?

More likely it points to under inflation coupled with wide wheels and using the power steering when stationary.

As dieselman - under-inflation will result in more wear on the edges and less in the centre - over inflation more centre wear and less edges.
Increase the pressures until the wear pattern is even.

Hi All, I've got inner tyre wear on front offside only... I took the wheel off to change the drop links and the tyres is split down to the metal inner casing... as I was about to do 300 miles on tuesday.... I'm in a quandry...

If i simply change the tyre, I'm in exactly the same position... so is the recommendation to change springs and camber bolts?

Thanks

For the cost, change the bottom swivels.. Or you'll just keep putting tyres on it,
