E320 cdi stuck in gear until restart

HI all,

recently brought a 2000 E320 cdi,125k miles. My first MB and i am loving it.

Today while accelerating from a junction the car stuck in 2nd gear (auto/tiptronic). I pulled over and restarted hte car and all is fine since.

Is this just a glitch or something about to go bang!

Any ideas welcome.

Hi, thank youfor the response, I will get the battery checked. It wasn,t first thing in the morning and I had travelled approx 70 miles when it happened.

In that case it could be one of the gearbox sensors, if that is the case you would wish it was the battery!!

We had another good post on this a while back, it applied to this fairly common fault that could affect all cars, I cant find it
