Anybody had an aftermarket exhaust fitted to an e53

Previously owned a c43 and in the market for an e53 but not happy with the exhausts standard and you cant get a performance exhaust in the uk

Cheers

id very much doubt it but I cant see it being that different to lesser models in the range so you may need to contact GAD or MSL , they may be able to help ?

Get the resonator removed and straight piped.
It improved the sound of mine a a fair bit although its a V8 and not a V6.

I wasn't that impressed with the sound of a stock C43 recently when he tried to show me a clean pair of heels.
It reminded me of a raspy M3 exhaust note.

@Ivan Mihov maybe you’re thinking @AMGeed was talking of the CATS but he wasn’t, it’s the resonator boxes, so no environmental issues there for the children (although they may go deaf )

Come back and discuss resonators when you are better informed.

Removing a resonator has nothing to do with the environment whatsoever.

You are correct about one aspect. You don't know me.

This is beginning to sound like my motorcycle chat group, straight through pipes & noise.
My bike puts out 144bhp & weighs 290Kgs, more than quick enough for me & its not noisy on standard pipes.

Apology accepted Ivan.:)

Had I been advising removing the catalytic convertors then you would have been correct.
The resonator is just a noise suppressant and has nothing to do with harmful pollutants.

How loud we talking if we remove ?

Also would it need to go on a dyno then ?

Cheers in advance

Removing the resonator doesn't make much difference on light throttle. But when you are on the gas it is far more vocal.
No need for a dyno unless you are remapping at the same time.

Here is mine with resonator removed.

I’m away to put this titanium cat back on mine and there quite loud. This comes with a remote so you can close some valves in the rear muffler's to lower the noise………. Can’t imagine why anyone would do that. If you going to make it loud keep it loud……… X Harley guy now living in Phuket Thailand
