Whilst surfing last night, I noticed a 2006 E55 estate with 37k miles at a mercedes dealer with a sticker price of £22k

As a former petrol head who has been forced to be sensible for the past 10 years (3 young kids), I look at a car like this and think I WANT ONE.

The consequences would not be good - potential divorce, financial ruin through running a car like this.... however I still want it

Please talk me out of this irrational decision. Tell me that you cannot fit 7 seats into an E55

If you can afford to run a Carrera, what's the problem? ;)

The car I saw on the web was just a bog standard E500 with the new 5.5L engine. However, it has really got me thinking about an E55 - if low mileage 3 year old cars are coming down to under 20k, I am not sure I could resist

I can easily rationalise it - I opted out of the company car scheme, where I could get a £30k+ diesel Audi / BMW estate, instead I could by a low mileage E55 Estate - not exactly a tough choice.... only my wife quite likes the cash, and doesn't understand why I need anything more than a 10 year old Merc diesel estate

That's the problem with a wife always being practical but a real nuisance when it comes to cars and affairs of the heart an head:(;);)
