My '94 S320 is currently in a Mercedes dealership having a warm starting problem looked at. They have finally tracked the problem down to a leak near the fuel rail which means that the residual fuel pressure is letting fuel leak into the manifold thus causing the engine to flood. Apparently the part costs only £20-£30 to fix.
But... in removing the fuel rail, I was told that they had managed to break two of the fuel injectors (at £100 each or thereabouts). Does this sound this negligence or is it actually a difficult job for a trained technician to remove a fuel rail without damaging the injectors?
Any views greatly appreciated!
