Just seen post , I've been away for a while so I missed it . I've been adding 2T and cetane in a mix for about 6-8 months to the E320cdi (2000miles ? ) in a mix of around 175ml 2T and 75ml cetane in an old redex 250ml bottle which makes it easy to pour into the tank . I do it mainly because of the introduction of low sulphur diesel which lacks the lubricity of the older diesel which was around when my car was made . I used to use diesel cleaners every so often but I have replaced it with the 2T cunning plan .Whity how long, and how many miles, have you added 2t?
I have a 2002 CLK 270 and I average 35mpg in town and 45/50mpg on a Motorway run at 70mph....
Stick it in Sport and perform an Italian tune up .....she will thank you for it .I haven't had it on a long run, we're talking 10-15 miles motorway max I've had her in the last 5 months of ownership. But Now you've got me curious. She's in for an oil change tomorrow so maybe I'll take her a run down the road and see what we can achieve... Been wanting to see the new Queensferry Crossing for a while now!
I haven't , but a discussion with one of our Merc Indys on the site will know of any short cuts to getting the job done cheaper .The garage highly recommended some replacement brake pipes on my visit yesterday and wouldn't even quote me a price... apparently they are a "nightmare" to replace.
