engine coolant in gearbox

hi guys, does anybody know if the gearbox cooling is done alongside the main radiator or has a seperate radiator, i ask this because i had to have a new torque converter fitted, and about every month before that i had to top up the main engine coolant and never new where it went.

my car is a c220 cdi about 3.5 yrs old 36kmiles

thats what is scaring me, mb never told me why the torque converter hd died.

i can see three rads on my car, the main one, one at the very bottom(aircon) and a small one the the left(dont know what this is for)
