The engine diagnostic amber light came on in my 07 plate Mercedes C220 CDI Estate today.
I took it to the car service place I have used for the last 20 years and their diagnostic (Crypton) equipment stated that Injector No. 1 was short, meaning as I understand it that the injector timing (length of on pulse) was too short. They cleared the code and said to keep an eye on it. The car is running normally and nothing seems amiss.
Can any of the more knowledgeable members of the forum, tell me if I have a more serious impending problem looming? Would it help to get the injectors cleaned/serviced.
The car only has 61,000 miles on the clock, I have had it 2 months and put 2,500 trouble free miles on the clock, so I'm extremely puzzled with the apparent problem.
I should say the light came back on again on the drive home from work tonight.
Yours in anticipation of a helpful answer.
