Your Mercedes

Your car will be either 3 litre 12 valves or the 24 valves model, and both engines still used electro-mechanical injection and distributors.

It was the later 3.2 lites 24 valve engines that went fully electronic with a central processor that controlled both ignition and injection all from the one computer.
It is with this type of wiring loom that the problems occured. So you should be OK on that score.

The 124.061 and the 124.051 had the 104.980 and the only problems were very basic ie Distributer caps and HT leads, with the occasional fuel injection wiring. So I would agree here, no Loom problems.
Ps the rotor arm tracks out. But again this is a basic DIY job.
