My 220 CDI is a dream - apart from the diesel rattle. Ive heard of a noice kill blanket that is cut and fitted around the top half of the engine. - it has a layer of lead and other noise retardent material.

Sound like a great idea, but has anyone had one fitted and do they help ?

I'm a bit worried about overheating and I'm not sure what MB would say if I had a warranty claim..................... that they could rebut as a consequence

Find a Jag S Type diesel and have a look under the bonnet they have really killed the noise on that engine.

There are many firms out there selling sound deadning felt, the more dense and heavey the better it works

Do a search sound deadening cars.
