I will be putting Mobil one in my 99 V6 at the next change, although the general thought is any good fully synthetic is a good choice :D

The recommended viscosity is 5w-40 which will be a fully synthetic.

Quality varies but an MB 229.3 approved one is the better spec oil.

Cheers

No Thankyou Mr. Benz

MB use CASTROL GTX MAGNATEC according to a receipt I got with my car.

I also see they take 1.7 hours to change the plugs. Thats £161.50 + Vat for the labour.
I'll change my own, thankyou Mr. Benz.

Oil & Filter

Just changed the above Oil filter from MB No. A1021840501. cost £5.64 inc vat. and the Oil 5w-40 fully synthetic 4x5 litres £54, of Ebay see enclosed attachment If it has worked??. Oil filter half the size of the one taken out but am assured is the correct replacement. If you want a laugh type in the filter ref No. and look at a German site with great tranclation.LOL.
Merc is a 1990 230E W124 Auto. If the pics of the Oil have been sent ok I will try a photo of the Beast.

1,7 hours isn't bad, standard time for this engine in 129 model is 2,1 hours....

Standard time or GMT.
But how long does it take (presuming opening and closing bonnet is already included in the A or B service price)

Yea Peter, that was highlighted on the receipt? Probably explaining why 1.7 hours.
£15.81 a plug labour (discounted) (Usually about a score a piece) Emm!!
