After noticing high temperature on water temp guage when my E280 M124 was idling in traffic, discovered the electric fans were not working. Following the advice given in an ealier post from DougE280 I found a 15 amp fuse blown on the blue relay for auxiliary fans. Now both fans work but the fan on the driver's side turns much faster than the fan on the other side. Also the relays would seem to be in the wrong positions according to the earlier post. The blue 15amp relay is in slot B behind (ie nearer the rear of the car) and the 30amp relay is in slot C in front of it (ie nearer the radiator). Can anyone help on this and also advise how to get relay out of its socket ?

Tks Tecky for reply, great help and have managed to remove the relays. The relays are inter-changeable. The electrical chart from Benz org. does show that these relays are for the auxiliary fans but does not state which relay should be in which socket. At the moment the 15 amp blue one is rearwards of the 30 amp green one. The 15amp apparantly controls the fans turning at low speed when engine temp is around 95-100o the 30 amp for the fans turning at high speed when the temp rises above that temp. Does anyone know what the correct position is for each relay?
