Engine shaking while idle or low speed

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out the problem with my car.
It is a 2014 C 180.

Since last few days, it has started to shake a little while standing idle or during driving with low speed or a couple of times, it did the same while I was applying brakes.
It has also been showing this warning message with battery that states, Stop Vehicle, Shift to P, Keep the engine running.

Can someone help me in figuring out the issue please?

I tried to browse online and in few instances, the issue was with EGR valve. But almost all of them were older than 15 years.

I will try that over the weekend.
It has been -21C here, do you think a frozen air filter could also be a reason for the engine to shake and try to pull air through it?

Unless it was completely soaked and it froze no... unless you've been driving through Rufford Ford too fast then the air filter shouldn't get wet...

When they tell you to pull over with the engine running , it's usually battery related or it's a very scenic area

Haha, yes. I am from Norway. Winter is finally here and in my region, we may expect it as low as -30.

I just watched this video: Most Common Symptoms Of Bad EGR Valve | Signs of failing EGR - YouTube

And the issue meets most of the symptoms shared in this video. So, it is very much likely to be an EGR valve issue.

The engine will shake if there are poor ht components . .When was the HT side last serviced ?
