Just welded up a small hole I found on the drivers side inner wing.. Now when I go to stop the car it doesn’t, the engine keeps on running. Coincidence?

I tried to see if I could find a fuel solenoid but had no joy. Is there one somewhere and if there is, is it electrical? Is this likely to be the problem?

Oh she’s been running on commercially bought biodiesel if it makes any difference.

Any ideas what or why it fails to stop when you turn the ignition off?

ahhh. so that's why I can't find any electrical connections going to the pump.

Is there a schematic available showing the layout of the tubing?

Thanks

His problem is solved as he melted a vacuum pipe. this car has a vacuum shut off

For anyone else that has a problem there is a red manual shut off lever on the inlet side of the engine

now this is really daft.. I fixed the problem this morning.. I'd not melted a pipe after all - rather when I had tried to move the vacuum pipe out of the way I'd managed to pull it off the back of the headlight!

I tested the theory of lost vacuum by seeing if the headlights moved on their switch (or not), which they didnt

thanks for your help
